FvwmCDE v. 0.12 The Common Desktop Environment panel emulator for Fvwm2 Copyright (C) 1997 by Orlando Andico WWW: http://gibson.eee.upd.edu.ph/~orly/unixcentral/FvwmCDE.html/ http://www.mozcom.com/~orly/unixcentral/FvwnCDE.html/ (mirror) INSTALLATION FROM SOURCE You will need: - XForms 0.86 (available from ftp://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/pub/xforms/) - the complete source tree of fvwm-2.0.45 (see http://www.hpc.uh.edu/fvwm/) - an ANSI C compiler, such as GCC or IDO CC What to do: - if you have the full source distribution (including fvwm-2.0.45) unpack it in the usual place, go into the top directory (fvwm-2.0.45/) and type the following: xmkmf -a make all make install If Imake is broken on your system, tough luck :( but I know little of it myself, so I can't help there.. - when the build is complete (10 minutes to an hour) go into the fvwm-2.0.45/extras/FvwmCDE/ directory, edit the Makefile to suit your needs, then rebuild the dependencies with make depend then build the thing: make - assuming no errors, you'll have an `FvwmCDE' binary now -- copy this into /usr/lib/X11/fvwm2/ or wherever is your Fvwm2 directory; then customize your system.fvwm2rc or .fvwm2rc appropriately.. - add the line `"I" Module FvwmCDE' to the InitFunction of your system.fvwm2rc or .fvwm2rc so that the module
